There is a wealth of lore, both magical and practical, that is in danger of being lost.
With this is mind, I have started the Pagan Guild of Ancient Arts.
This will be a collection of information regarding various arts from weaving to swordsmithing. I am starting with online work, which will hopefully eventually lead to practical demonstrations and exhibits.
Please check back as I solidify the structures, aims and lists of fellow guild-members. Separate guilds will have guild-leaders who are appropriately skilled, with all work non-gender specific. Practical non-Pagan craft information will be supplied as well as magical and mythical aspects, websites and book lists. I will try and post all information in both English and French when it’s available.
A special thanks to Ethos organizers and attendees, since this idea formed while sitting a table of wonderful conversations!
Aislinn,
Pagan Guild of Ancient Arts, founder
Hall of Tribes, co-founder
Caer Avalon, founder
**********************************************************8
GUILDS:
Bardic
Includes poetry, storytelling, history, songs, dance and drumming
Blacksmithing
Includes both blacksmithing and silversmithing, swordsmithing…
Farming/Hunting
Includes crops, herds and ancient hunting practices
Handcrafts
Includes beading, personal adornments, decorative patterns
Hearth Arts
Includes baking, cooking…
Healing Arts
Includes herbal remedies, natural remedies and charms.
Magical Arts
Includes rites of passages, rituals, charms.
Weaving
Includes spinning and loom work, sewing, embroidery
Woodwork
Includes carving, furniture-making.
*
In honour of Brighid of the Fire in the Head
and
Lugh Samh-ildánach , Skilled in Many Crafts

Contact: paganguild@yahoo.com

Copyright 2008
We cannot and do not guarantee the accuracy of any information found on these pages or associated links.
